Also known as Variegated Pyramid Plant, Crassula Capitella spp thyrsiflora variegated is one truly sculptural shrub succulent, once mature this plant can be genuinely stunning with its tight pyramid heads winding over one another.
The variegation can change massively over the growing season. It can be strong in the springtime or when grown in lower light levels. It starts with yellow colouration and will turn pink before disappearing before flowing. Usually, it will return from autumn to winter. You can grow this plant in lower light levels to enjoy the variegation for longer. Flowering happens typically in early autumn, as the heads can elongate and produce red stalks with lots of tiny white flowers. After flowering, it can take a while for the plant to recover and grow with its usual tight pyramid formation.
Crassula Capitella spp thyrsiflora variegated can have impressive growth rates. It will appreciate a good feeding watering in the growing season which is mainly Spring and Autumn. It’s best to keep the heads from becoming waterlogged, due to the tight growth formation. This plant will appreciate good airflow.
